French veteran Christophe "SIXER" Xia will be EnVyUs' fifth player at the WESG World Finals, HLTV.org has learned.
The 26-year-old, who was moved to EnVyUs' academy team last month, will replace Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom, who is ineligible to compete for the French side at the WESG event under the tournament's single-nationality rule and will instead feature for a Belgium mix led by Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans.
Envy qualified for the WESG World Finals after placing 5th-8th at the Europe Finals, in Barcelona, which they attended with Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey as a stand-in.
In the post-Major roster shuffle, Envy signed kioShiMa from FaZe and promoted Ali "hAdji" Haïnouss from the academy team, replacing Alexandre "xms" Forté and Christophe "SIXER" Xia. The changes came as a result of a run of poor form that saw Vincent "Happy" Schopenhauer's men win just one event, DreamHack Open Atlanta, in 2017 after losing the core of their lineup to G2.
EnVyUs Academy currently sit seventh in ESEA MDL with a 6-3 record, with SIXER averaging a 1.08 rating.
Envy have been drawn in Group E for the WESG World Finals, alongside Bravado, Ukraine and Viva Algeria. The French team will attend the event with:
Vincent "Happy" Schopenhauer
Cédric "RpK" Guipouy
Ali "hAdji" Haïnouss
Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey
Christophe "SIXER" Xia
